SAAFCarb MB engineered gas removal chemical media is specifically impregnated for the effective removal of ammonia gas.

SAAFCarb MB media provides effective removal of ammonia gas. It efficiently removes 99,5% of the contaminant from SAAFCarb MB systems. A specifically designed acid impregnant enhances the removal capacity of ammonia to a 7,0% minimum. SAAFCarb MB media undergoes several quality control tests before being shipped, including tests for moisture content, bulk density and carbon tetrachloride absorption.

The SAAFCarb MB media chemisorptive process removes impure gases by adsorption, absorption and chemical reaction. The gas is trapped within the pellet and a chemical reaction changes the gases into harmless solids, thereby mitigating the possibility of desorption.

SAAFCarb MB media undergoes the following quality control tests:

  • Moisture Content
  • Pellet Diameter

SAAFCarb MB media is packaged in bags of 25 kg or big bags (1m2) of 500 kg. SAAFCarb MB media is also available packaged in SAAF cartridges, cassettes and trays.

SAAFCarb MB media performs under the following application guidelines (actual capacities and efficiencies may vary):

  • Temperature: -20° to 55°C
  • Humidity: 10% – 95% RH
  • Suitable for use in commercial and industrial systems with equipment face velocities from 50 to 500 FPM (0,25 - 2,5 m/s)

The installers must use dust masks, safety goggles and rubber gloves.

The spent SAAFCarb MB media must be disposed of according to local and national guidelines.

Wet activated carbon adsorbs atmospheric oxygen, causing low oxygen supply in enclosed areas or packed containers. This can be potentially hazardous for workers who enter these oxygen-depleted areas. Make sure that the workers adhere to the local and national safety guidelines.
