Based on the outbreak of COVID-19 and the need for less maintenance due to access, our client approached our experts to find a solution to suit their needs. Whilst longevity of the filtration change outs are needed the improved efficiency of the filtration is paramount to help protect patients and all other persons.

One of the biggest obstacles faced when improving efficiency is the reduced air-flow the final stage filter delivers. Client was pre qualified AAF, although they had some knowledge of our products they was not totally aware of the technical foundations and other benefits.

AAF’s task was to carry out a full site survey that we offer F.O.C and look at other recommendations company could offer and implement a solution to them that they could deliver to their client - well known Teaching Hospital.

The solution proposed was to offer our elite range of filters to not just increase their change outs but also increase efficiency. With our MegaPleat™ panel filter that last 50% longer than other competitors, 40% stronger and has a 33% lower initial resistance whilst still delivering ISO 16890 Coarse rating. With its uniform media with controlled fibre size and blend minimises performance variations, providing dependable and consistent operation over time. It’s high-strength we beverage board helps protect against the environmental elements. We also proposed the DriPak GX™ 10 pocket bag filter. This filter offers more benefits other to longevity.

The specially designed tapered pockets guide the air with a continuous velocity through the filter, increasing the surface area of the filter and utilizing the entire media used. The filter performs with a minimum rating of ePM1 55% under the ISO 16890 by which the indoor conditions are improved to aid protection. With the DriPak™ GX 10 pocket bag filter being A+ energy rating. It also reduces the energy consumption and carbon reduction “these are one of the main missions that ENGIE offer to their client. Therefor the solution offered is beneficial to their total cost of ownership .

The metal frames are equipped with a two-step air filtration system consisting of RedPleat ISO Coarse 70% 592 x 592 x 96 with plastic frame as prefilter and BioCel V HXLA 85 592 x 592 x 440 as main filter. The BioCel V XLA 85 filters (MERV 15) provide 85% efficiency on 0.3-1 μm particles.

AAF’s client has installed their new range of filters and have already seen an increase of not just energy savings, but increased longevity and a better Indoor Air Quality achieved. They have also saved in other areas such as disposal cost, labour cost, purchasing cost and have given them peace of mind that the filters will perform whilst giving the ultimate performance. They have gone from changing their filters quarterly for both panel and bag filters to every six months for their panels and twelve months for their bag filter. Over all the client was happy with the solution provided.
